Translating and Editing Segments

When completing specific translation projects, there are two work types: translation and editing.

Translating in Editor​

  • All contents in the file will be ordered presented in the source column on the left side of the Editor according to the segment rules including period, question mark, exclamation mark or paragraph mark.
  • Place the cursor in the target column on the right for translating. After editing a segment, the rightmost status bar will displayAlt icons.

Confirm the Segment​

  • Press Enter to confirm the segment. After confirming a segment, its status will change fromAlt toAlt. The confirmed segments will be automatically saved in the cloud, and the segments' information will be written to the Updated TM of the project
  • After confirming a segment, YiCAT will automatically move the cursor to the next segment.

  • You can also click Altin the upper left corner to confirm segments.

  • In the translation workflow, you can also bulk confirm segments. Click the triangle below the confirm button in the upper left corner, and select Confirm All Segments.

Editing in the Editor​

  • All contents in the file will be ordered presented in the source column on the left side of the Editor according to the segment rules including period, question mark, exclamation mark or paragraph mark.
  • Place the cursor in the target column on the right side for editing. After editing a segment, the rightmost status bar will display Altor Alticons.
